Arthur Capener is a painter of landscapes in the traditional style. Art had his own gallery in Auckland for 12 years managed successfully by his wife Cheryl and  the result is that many of his paintings are in corporate and private collections around the world.
Born in 1946 in the UK Art had always been interested in painting and sketching since he was a small boy in primary school. Mostly self taught he had a short time with the Liverpool College of Art before getting married and eventually migrating to New Zealand with his wife and three sons in 1973.
With a full time occupation and a busy family life including the addition of yet another son the paints were put away for some time, however after a visit to the South Island a number of years ago that was all the inspiration needed to pick up the brushes again.

A number of Arts paintings have recently been made available in canvas giclee format , hand finished by the artist  in limited editions.
